WestJet’s flagship Elevation Lounge officially opened at YYC Calgary International Airport on Nov. 2, 2020 in the Domestic Terminal. This lounge—the only one of its kind in the world—is two years in the making, and WestJet and The Calgary Airport Authority have been working together closely on this project.
The 9,300-square-foot lounge was designed by global architecture and design firm, Gensler. There’s a special focus on local throughout the lounge with exclusive art work by Calgary-based Mandy Stobo as well as nods to Alberta’s unique landscape with a graphic of Canmore’s Three Sister mountain range above the bar. There’s also a signature “Elevation” beer on-tap from Calgary’s Annex Ale Project and a chef-designed menu that incorporates local and seasonal fare. Other local companies featured in the lounge include Rocky Mountain Soap Company and Fratello Coffee Roasters.
The lounge boasts Wi-Fi, free printing and reservable meeting spaces and there’s also a dedicated family space for kids. Guests looking to freshen up can take advantage of the reservable, private shower facilities.
Special consideration has been given to health and safety with contactless ordering from personal devices, mandatory masks (when not eating or drinking), plexiglass shields at high-interaction areas and a thoughtful floor plan that allows for social distancing. Enhanced and rigorous cleaning practices are also in place, including electrostatic spraying. These measures, along with our #FlyHealthyYYC program—which achieved ACI World Health Accreditation—ensures our guests can be confident that we and our partners have done everything we can to make their trip safe and comfortable.

The lounge is open to all passengers flying through YYC, with complimentary access to certain WestJet Rewards Members and guests travelling in the business cabin of the 787 Dreamliners. Discounted rates are available for certain other club memberships. Walk-in rates start at $59 +GST for adults and $30 +GST for children.
