Today, 27 April 2023, SAS flies its first direct flight from Aalborg Airport to Newark Liberty Airport in New York. The departure marks that SAS continues to expand its offer to New York from Scandinavia.

With the new route, citizens in and around Aalborg and the rest of Jutland can fly directly to New York three times a week with SAS's latest addition to the fleet - the Airbus A321 Long Range - which offers a more comfortable and sustainable journey.

The route between Aalborg and New York is a supplement to SAS's five other routes to New York. With its latest offer, SAS will have a total of five daily departures from Scandinavia to New York.

Aalborg and its surroundings offer spectacular nature and plenty of activities for travelers. The city is also home to many companies with international contacts, which makes the new route relevant for both business and leisure travellers.

American destinations continue to generate demand for more and more frequent departures. This summer, SAS will offer up to 164 departures each week on a total of 14 routes.
