While the construction project for the new terminal is progressing rapidly, Montréal Saint-Hubert Airport is today making public its directions and decisions regarding infrastructure which will define the type of carrier that will serve the airport.

The terminal under construction, as well as the associated aircraft taxiways, will only be intended for single-aisle aircraft not exceeding code C of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) classification. In doing so, large aircraft that can accommodate more than 230 passengers will not be able to land at Montreal Saint-Hubert Airport. By dedicating our infrastructure to smaller aircraft with less than 230 seats, we are choosing to favor more efficient aircraft that generate less noise.

Note that the airport already announced last February that Porter Airlines will be the first major airline to serve its flights from Saint-Hubert. These will use Embraer E195-E2 model aircraft, which is the quietest and most fuel-efficient aircraft on the market today. The terminal will also host Pascan Aviation, a pillar of regional service in Quebec, which uses Saab 340B model aircraft that can accommodate around thirty passengers.

With a capacity of 4M passengers annually, the future terminal at Montreal Saint-Hubert Airport can still accommodate many other airlines since half of its capacity still remains available to new carriers. Discussions are currently underway with certain companies and announcements will come before the opening of the terminal scheduled for summer 2025.
