Transavia fills the gap at Eindhoven airport (EIN)

Starting today, Transavia is offering extra flights from Eindhoven Airport to nine popular cities. This is possible because the Dutch airline is filling the gap resulting from Ryanair’s decision to close its Eindhoven base.

Transavia’s flight schedule from Eindhoven now includes more flights to the following nine popular destinations: Marrakech, Krakow, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Valencia, Malaga, Seville, Athens and Faro.

“As a result of these additional flights, Transavia is significantly expanding its capacity from Eindhoven Airport in coming months,” says Erik-Jan Gelink, Head of Commercial at Transavia. “This translates into around 30,000 extra seats through the end of March 2019. We are more than happy to fill this gap and, of course, this is also good news for travellers in the region.”

A considerable percentage of the gap left by Ryanair at Eindhoven Airport has been allocated to Transavia. “We’re pleased with this confidence in our airline and expect to welcome lots of extra passengers on board one of our aircraft in coming months. For the time being, extra flights have only been added to the winter schedule. But we would also very much like to add extra flights from Eindhoven Airport in the summertime as well,” adds Gelink.

Ticket prices

As with all Transavia flights, flying to one of these destinations is surprisingly affordable. A one-way flight to Barcelona, for example, costs only 29 euros and Marrakech can be reached from Eindhoven Airport for only 35 euros. The current flight schedule and ticket prices can be found at transavia.com.
